Mindful Photography with Karen

Karen Williams is delighted to guide you on this journey of discovery, creativity, and connection.
She is a woman who wears many hats (as we all do) including those of a keen photographer, mindfulness teacher and personal and professional development coach, and mentor.
She is a passionate advocate for self-care and believes the natural world is a beneficial environment to help us cultivate an increased sense of curiosity, creativity, connection, and feelings of wellbeing.
She enjoys sharing these passions with others, creating spaces where we can pause, reflect, and explore not only the natural world but also ourselves.
The workshops are an invitation to you to step away from the noise of everyday life and approach your surroundings with a sense of playful curiosity. It’s not about being perfect or an expert; it’s about finding joy in the process of exploration, discovering the beauty in small details, and sharing these moments with like-minded people.
Together, you'll wander through beautiful landscapes, pause to notice the little things, and play with photography—not as an art to master, but as a tool to inspire reflection, creativity, and connection.
Karen believes that when we open ourselves up to learning from nature, our environment, and each other, we uncover so much more than just beautiful images.
So, go as you are—curious, open-hearted, and ready to embrace this experience. explore, discover, share, and most importantly, have fun!

It is a modern approach that was first developed in the 1980s in Japan as a result of research by Miyazaki Yoshifumi and Dr Qing Li. The fundamentals of shinrin-yoku are to connect with nature through our senses. The practice encourages us to slow down and notice the natural world around us.
